¿Alguna vez ha deseado que Dios lo bendiga? ¡Me imagino que sí! Ahora bien, permítame recordarle que el Señor ya ha sido inmensurablemente bondadoso con nosotros. Nos ha dado más de lo que pudimos haber soñado: nos ha salvado, nos ha provisto de sanidad y nos ha bendecido en miles de formas distintas. Y eso es lo que necesitamos recordar cada vez que diezmamos. Deberíamos ir ante Su presencia, y agradecerle por dejarnos entrar a nuestra Tierra Prometida. Diezme con una actitud de agradecimiento. Al leer Deuteronomio 26, observará que eso les enseñó Dios a los israelitas. Él no quería que ellos trajeran su diezmo por compromiso, sino que lo depositaran de corazón; además, les ordenó que se lo propusieran y que lo adoraran con su diezmo. Deberíamos adoptar esa misma actitud cada vez que diezmamos. Deberíamos alabar al Señor, y declarar: Padre, una vez estuve perdido, fui prisionero del pecado sin esperanza y sin un pacto contigo. Mas Tú enviaste a Jesús para redimirme, lo enviaste a derramar Su preciosa sangre; a fin de que yo pudiera ser libre. Gracias, Señor, por librarme del reino de las tinieblas y trasladarme al reino de Tu amado Hijo. Gracias por recibir mi diezmo como una expresión de alabanza a Ti. Pero no tenemos que conformarnos sólo con eso; al igual que los israelitas, también deberíamos expresar: Señor, he traído el diezmo de mi casa. No me he quedado con él, sino lo he dado como Tú lo has mandado. Mira desde Tu morada santa, desde el cielo, y ¡bendíceme! (Deuteronomio 26:13-15). ¿Acaso ese tipo de conversación lo pone nervioso? ¿Cree que Dios se ofenderá si le pide que lo bendiga? ¡Claro que no! Él se complacerá. Después de todo, bendecirnos fue Su idea; eso ha querido el Señor desde hace mucho tiempo. No sea tímido. ¡Diezme con valentía! ¡Diezme con gozo! Déle a Dios el 10% de sus ingresos y el 100% de su corazón. Después regocíjese en fe, y diga continuamente: ¡Sea exaltado el SEÑOR que se deleita en la prosperidad de su siervo! (Salmos 32:27). ¡Manténgase a la expectativa de empezar a recibir! No límite a Dios, y permítale que se goce ¡prosperándolo! 1 Samuel 23-24; 1 Corintios 10 Yo honro al Señor con mis bienes y con las primicias de todos mis frutos; por tanto, mis graneros serán llenados con abundancia y mis lagares rebosarán de mosto (Proverbios 3:9-10).

Have you ever wanted God to bless you? Well, sure you have! But the fact is, God has already treated us with overwhelming kindness. He has already given us all more than we ever dreamed possible. He has saved us. He has provided healing for us. He has blessed us in a thousand different ways. And that’s what we should remember every time we tithe. We should come before the Lord and thank Him for bringing us into our promised land. Tithe with an attitude of gratitude.

If you’ll read Deuteronomy 26, you’ll see that’s what He instructed the Israelites to do. He didn’t want them to simply plunk their tithe into the offering plate without putting their hearts into it. He commanded them to come very purposefully and worship Him with it.

We would do well to do much the same thing each time we tithe. We should worship the Lord and say, “Father, once I was lost, a prisoner of sin with no hope and no covenant with You. But You sent Jesus to redeem me. You sent Him to shed His precious blood so I could be free. Thank You, Lord, for delivering me out of the kingdom of darkness and translating me into the kingdom of Your dear Son. Thank You for receiving the tithe as an expression of worship to You.”

But we shouldn’t stop with that. We should also say as the Israelites did, “Now, Lord, I have brought the tithe out of my house. I haven’t kept it for myself. But I’ve given it just as You have commanded. So look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless me!” (Refer to verses 13-15 of Deuteronomy 26.)

Does that kind of talk make you nervous? Do you think God will be offended if you tell Him to bless you? He won’t! He’ll be delighted. After all, blessing us was His idea. It’s what He has wanted to do all along.

So don’t be shy. Tithe boldly! Tithe gladly! Give God the 10 percent of your income that belongs to Him, and give Him 100 percent of your heart. Then rejoice in faith and say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant!” (Psalm 35:27). Begin to expect! Take the limits off God and let Him have a good time blessing you!

« I honor the Lord with my substance and with the firstfruits of all my increase. My barns are filled with plenty and my presses burst out with new wine. »  (Proverbs 3:9-10)
